Hot Rolled Pickled and Oiled Steel

Cincinnati Steel Products Co. recommends hot rolled pickled and oiled steel for applications that require a clean, uniform surface and good flatness. The pickling process removes scale from the hot rolled sheet surface at the mill by action of water solutions and inorganic acids. Typically, an oil film is applied after pickling to guard against rust and gouging during coil handling.
